For years, BlackBerry has been running their own operationg systems in their BlackBerry devices and all that has changed. The BlackBerry operating systems has made huge profit in the company just up until Android by Google was introduced into Samsung phones which shifted the entire industry of smart phones.
The PRIV, a new BlackBerry phone on Android, is not yet perfect as noted why other things might not work well as they should. Since Android is an open source, the BlackBerry company will try to change change or modify as many things as possible on the Android platform trying to incorporate their existing services on the new operating system.
Some of the reasons why BlackBerry adopted Android is because of the developers community, the Android community grows rapidly each and every day so is the IOS devlopers which is where the money is made. Most application developers move away from the BlackBerry, Samsung and Windows phone stores. So in this case, the only last option would be to move their operating systems to either Apple or Google which most users are familiar with. This decision will increas the BlackBerry sales since dropped in 2013.
